Fangoria
- "I Know What You Screamed Last Summer" (which was later
renamed "Scream If You Know What I Did Last Friday the 13th")
(December 1999)
Here is
the snippet about the plot and the quotes from Danny:
The
premise of I Know What You Screamed is simple -- an oafish killer
is on the loose, but his efforts to dispatch a variety of teens
in the sleepy town of Bulimia Falls have gone unrewarded since
his intended victims die before he gets a chance to take them
out. Hot on the killer's trail is a mall rent-a-cop (Tom Arnold),
who teams up with an MTV VJ-ish news reporter named Tabitha Utslay
(Tiffani-Amber Thiessen). Meanwhile, the jokes range from obvious
(the killer leaves notes on stationery that reads "FROM THE DESK
OF THE KILLER") to clever (Coolio plays a school figurehead dubbed
The Administrator Formerly Known As Principal).
The
younger characters run the gamut of the horror/teen spectrum as
well. Lead Dawson (Harley Cross) has an I Know What You Did Last
Summer-esque guilt trip from having accidentally killed someone
(or did he?) one summer. Boner (Danny Strong of Buffy the Vampire
Slayer) only wants to get laid a la American Pie, and Buffy/Jawbreaker
star Julie Benz is the Miss Kielbasa Homecoming Queen, who has
slept with everyone in her school and still doesn't understand
the meaning of love.
"I
don't think there is any real fear or tension in this thing,"
notes Strong. "I don't think there's ever a moment where you're
going to get scared -- this is 100 percent spoof."
